Carbon Tint Vs Ceramic Tint
When it comes to window tinting, carbon tint and ceramic tint are two popular choices that each offer their own unique advantages. Carbon tint is a cost-effective option that contains carbon particles to block harmful UV rays and reduce heat transfer. It not only provides good heat rejection and privacy but also has a sleek appearance and doesn’t interfere with radio signals. This makes it a practical choice for car owners who rely on their built-in navigation and entertainment systems.
On the other hand, ceramic tint is a more advanced and high-performance option. It is made using non-conductive ceramic particles that also don’t interfere with radio signals. It excels at rejecting heat, making it ideal for hot climates or for individuals who prioritize maximum heat reduction. It also offers excellent UV protection, preventing the car’s interior from fading or deteriorating over time due to sun exposure. While it may come with a higher price tag, its long-lasting durability and superior performance make it a highly attractive option for those looking for the best window tinting solution for their vehicle.
At Calgary Tint And PPF Studio, we offer both carbon and ceramic tint options to cater to the varying needs and preferences of our customers. Whether you prioritize cost-effectiveness and privacy or seek top-notch heat rejection and UV protection. We also offer Xpel PPF for the best rock chip protection.

Our Process On Window Tint Installation
Prepare the window surface.
We start by thoroughly cleaning the window surface. We want to ensure there are no traces of dust, dirt, or debris that could interfere with the adhesion of the tint. We use specialized cleaning agents that give a pristine surface for optimal adhesion and then dry it with a microfiber towel.
Measure and cut the tint film.
We measure the dimensions of the window and leave a slight overlap on each side for precise fitting. After that, we roll out the XPEL PRIME HP window tint film or the 3M window film on the vehicle window and use the measurements to cut the film with a sharp utility knife. We take our time to achieve accurate cuts to ensure that the tint covers the entire window without any gaps or overlaps.
Install the film with squeegee technique.
We use a squeegee to eliminate any remaining air bubbles and ensure a smooth, even surface. Using a squeegee, we start from the centre and work our way outwards, smoothing the tint film against the window surface. This process helps remove any air bubbles and ensures a tight bond between the film and the glass. We take our time to achieve a smooth, bubble-free finish.
Do heat shaping.
This step involves using a heat gun to shape the tint film for a perfect fit. We apply heat to the film, starting from the centre and moving towards the edges. The heat softens the film and allows it to conform to the curves and contours of the window. We use the squeegee to press the film continuously against the glass as we shape it.
Provide aftercare instructions.
We provide comprehensive aftercare instructions to ensure the longevity of your tinted windows. These instructions cover proper cleaning techniques, avoiding abrasive materials, and guidelines on when it's safe to roll down windows after installation. Following these instructions helps you to maintain the tint's effectiveness and appearance over time.
